Welcome to Lobby Tech Lab. Your privacy is critically important to us. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your data at lobbytechlab.com. By accessing or using our platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We only collect information about you if we have a reason to do so — for example, to provide our services, to communicate with you, or to improve our platform.

  • Account Data: If you register, we store your username, email address, and authentication credentials via Firebase Authentication.
  • Profile Data: Display name, avatar, and any optional profile information you choose to provide.
  • Log Data: Technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring URLs, and access timestamps for security, analytics, and platform optimization.
  • Usage Data: Page views, article interactions, forum participation, thread replies, and comment activity to personalize your experience and improve content relevance.
  • Forum & Community Data: Content you post in discussion threads (Hilos), replies, comments on articles, and any user-generated content submitted through our community features.
  • Communications: If you contact us at lab@lobbytechlab.com, we keep a record of that correspondence.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information collected to:

  • Operate, maintain, and improve Lobby Tech Lab and all its features, including the blog, forum (Hilos), and community sections.
  • Personalize your experience by recommending relevant articles, discussions, and content.
  • Analyze usage trends, hardware topics, and community engagement to improve our editorial and platform quality.
  • Protect our community from spam, abuse, harassment, and offensive content.
  • Send communications including content recommendations, breaking tech news, and platform updates (with your consent where required).
  • Generate aggregated, anonymized analytics that help us understand how the platform is used. These analytics do not personally identify you.

3. Cookies and Tracking

We use the following types of cookies and similar technologies:

  • Essential Cookies: Required to keep you logged in, maintain your session, and ensure platform functionality.
  • Analytical Cookies: Help us understand which articles, forum threads, and features are most popular so we can improve the Lab.
  • Preference Cookies: Remember your display settings, theme preferences, and language choices.

By continuing to use our platform, you consent to our use of cookies as described above. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.

4. Third-Party Services

We use professional infrastructure and third-party services to operate the Lab:

  • Google Firebase: For hosting, authentication, database management, and cloud functions.
  • Cloudflare: For DNS management, CDN delivery, DDoS protection, and secure email routing.
  • Social Media Platforms (Meta): Content published on Lobby Tech Lab may be automatically shared to our official Facebook, Instagram, and Threads accounts for promotional purposes.
  • AI & Machine Learning Services: We use artificial intelligence tools to assist in content generation, article research, and community engagement features. See Section 7 for details.
  • Price Aggregation APIs (Deals feature): The Deals section retrieves game pricing data from third-party APIs including CheapShark and IsThereAnyDeal (ITAD). No personal data is transmitted to these APIs; only anonymous product search queries are made. Game metadata (descriptions, ratings, screenshots) is sourced from the RAWG game database and Steam. Lobby Tech Lab does not share your identity or browsing history with any of these services.
  • Nexus Mods: The Deals game detail pages may display mod information sourced from the Nexus Mods API. This is a read-only data retrieval; no personal data is sent to Nexus Mods.

These third-party services have their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them. Lobby Tech Lab is not responsible for the privacy practices of any third-party service.

5. Forum, Hilos & Community Data

Lobby Tech Lab provides community discussion features including forum threads ("Hilos"), article comments, and reply systems. By using these features, you understand and agree that:

  • Any content you post in public threads, comments, or replies is visible to all users and may be indexed by search engines.
  • Your display name and avatar will appear alongside your posts. You are solely responsible for the content you share.
  • Discussion threads may be automatically created when new articles are published to encourage community discussion around the topic.
  • We reserve the right to moderate, edit, or remove any content that violates our community guidelines or Terms of Use.
  • Deleted accounts will have their posts anonymized but not necessarily removed, to preserve the integrity of community discussions.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. Forum posts and community content may be retained indefinitely to preserve the continuity and value of discussions for all users.

7. Artificial Intelligence & Automated Systems

Lobby Tech Lab uses artificial intelligence technologies in various aspects of the platform:

  • Content Creation: Some articles and news summaries may be generated or assisted by AI tools. All AI-assisted content undergoes editorial review and is published under the Lobby Tech Lab editorial brand.
  • Content Recommendations: AI-powered algorithms help suggest related articles and trending topics based on your interests and browsing patterns.
  • Community Engagement: To foster an active and engaging community environment — particularly during early growth stages — certain forum participants and commenters may be AI-powered agents designed to stimulate conversation, provide relevant technical perspectives, and encourage organic discussion. These agents are designed to contribute constructively and behave within our community guidelines.

We are committed to transparency. The use of AI is intended solely to enhance the user experience and cultivate a vibrant community space. As our organic community grows, the role and presence of automated participants is subject to change.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: Update or correct inaccurate personal information through your profile settings.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated personal data, subject to our retention obligations and the need to preserve community discussion integrity.
  • Objection: Object to certain processing of your data where applicable.
  • Portability: Request your data in a commonly used, machine-readable format where technically feasible.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at lab@lobbytechlab.com. We will respond within 30 days.

9. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), secure authentication via Firebase, rate limiting, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children's Privacy

Lobby Tech Lab is not directed to individuals under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will take steps to delete it promptly.
